our first year.  However this fee includes a host of wonderful benefits.  This fee

not only helps us to provide the awards for this event as well as providing all the

Q: Can I use a royalty free song?

A: Yes and no.  You can use public domain lyrics and record a new version with

your own instrumentation but you can only use a song that you can prove you have the rights to.

Best bet is to just get a local artist or have us assign you a song at the kickoff.  There are wonderful

Musicians here in Springfield to choose from so just do thatJ

Q: What if I can’t find a band?

A: Well, for this competition we are providing 1 of 2 options for you.

Either bring your own song that you have the rights too or you can be assigned a song by us

from our pool of local artists.

Q: Are we giving up rights to our song and video?

A: Not at all.  However, you will be required to sign a release allowing The Rock On

Music Video Competition and Untapped Productions to use all media contributed

In any fashion we see fit.  You will still retain all your own distribution rights but so

will we.

Q: Do we need to put a title on the front of the song like they do on MTV?

A: No.  Absolutely no text unless it’s part of the video will be permitted

On the videos.  We will get that information from you and put it on each video ourselves.

This is to ensure uniformity in font size, type, and sizing.

Q: In what format will we turn in?

A: One copy on DVD with Video_ts and Audio_ts files present and one copy on DATA DVD

In either AVI, QUICKTIME, or MPEG format.  This is for providing the highest

Quality DVD of all the videos.
